The Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Yield: 48 cookies
Ingredients
2 cups packed brown sugar
1 stick of butter, room temperature
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In the bowl of a stand mixer with a paddle attachment, cream the sugar and butter together on medium speed for 2-3 minutes.
Add eggs and vanilla on low speed.
Add 2 cups of flour, along with the baking soda and salt on low speed.
Add the other cup of flour and bring it to medium speed to incorporate it fully into the dough.
Add chocolate chips on low speed.
Using a cookie scoop, drop 12 dough pieces evenly spaced onto a cookie sheet.
Bake 10 minutes. Allow to cool 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheet.
Recipe Notes:
Of course you don’t have to do chocolate chips. You can do peanut butter chips, a combination of the two, chocolate chunks, cinnamon chips, M&M’s, caramel chips…You pick!
This recipe makes a big batch of cookies, which is great if you are baking for a crowd (or a husband with a sweet tooth:). Another good idea is to freeze some dough for later. Just drop the dough on a cookie sheet like you normally would and pop it in the freezer for a couple hours...or days if you forget about it, not that we have ever had that happen around here. Once the dough balls are frozen, put them in a freezer bag. When you need to bake them, place the frozen dough on a cookie sheet and bake, adding a few extra minutes to the bake time.
