Sourdough Waffles
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: a few minutes per waffle
Yield: 9 waffles
Ingredients
3 cups sourdough starter, active or discard
1 cup flour
2 eggs
1/2 cup oil or butter, melted
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions
Preheat waffle iron.
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl.
Drop batter into hot waffle iron and cook to preferred doneness.
Repeat with remaining batter.
Store leftovers with a sheet of parchment paper between stacks of waffles to prevent sticking.
Recipe Notes:
This recipe differs from most sourdough waffles out there. I like to add a little extra flour to the batter to help it be slightly more stable. I am not a fan of mushy waffles.
